The system that built it
Goosebumps are controlled by the sympathetic nervous system โ the same system that speeds your heart when you are scared, widens your pupils in the dark, and floods your blood with adrenaline before a race.
When cold or strong emotion hits, the sympathetic system releases a chemical called norepinephrine.
