There is no air pressure on the Moon. And air pressure is the only reason a straw works at all.
Here is what actually happens
Most people think that when you drink through a straw, you pull the juice up.
That is wrong.
What you really do is remove the air from inside the straw with your mouth. Now the pressure inside the straw is low.
And outside, in the glass? Normal air pressure is still pressing down on the surface of the juice.
So who is sending the juice up? The air outside. Not your lips.
You are not pulling —
the air is pushing.
So what happens on the Moon
The Moon has almost no atmosphere. That means there is no air pressing down on the juice.
Now even if you suck all the air out of the straw, the juice stays in the glass. There is nothing to push it up.
This is why astronauts drink from sealed pouches and squeeze them — not from glasses and straws.
